The Client
Harvest is the audiovisual project of Iael Esther Brener, which raises a new musical style she calls ‘Electro doom pop’. Her first LP is called ‘Erebus’ and is based on the struggle with her inner demons, which appear personified as the primordial deities of Greek mythology.
The album is a conversation with these entities and serves as a journey of redemption parting from the region of the underworld where the dead pass—Erebus—to the deepest part of hell—Tartarus—the abyss used as a dungeon of eternal torment for the wicked.
The Challenge
The theme of the record is not a gloating with affliction or death, but a way of integrating these entities and making peace with them, so it was crucial to portray darkness moving away from clichés and representing these complex feelings in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
The album imagery is a mixture and a digital collage of stills from the single ‘Thanatos’ videoclip, co-directed by Harvest and C03RA, textures, corrupted and databent digital files of random found images on the internet. Such as Harvest’s approach to music, the album art is a pastiche of varied genres and styles.
